Snell earns NJCAA DI Baseball Player of the Year
Charlotte, NC - Wallace-Dothan's Kade Snell has been named the 2023 NJCAA Baseball DI Player of the Year.
Head Coach Ryan Ihle on Snell- "Kade is an exceptional young man, both on and off the field. As his coach, I could not be prouder of his achievements as the NJCAA National Player of the Year and his contributions to our team as a pitcher and designated hitter. Kade's dedication, work ethic, and leadership qualities make him a role model for his teammates and an asset to our program. His commitment to excellence extends beyond the diamond, and he consistently demonstrates outstanding character and sportsmanship. Kade's success is a testament to his remarkable talent and the exceptional person he is. He will go down as one of the greatest to ever wear a Govs uniform."
Kade Snell had an outstanding year on both sides of the baseball. Along with his 87 strikeouts and 1.86 ERA in 14 appearances at the mound, Snell recorded a .396 batting average with 76 hits, 70 RBIs, 55 runs, 13 home runs, and 12 doubles at the plate. His strikeouts and ERA on defense were the highest in the ACCC this season along with his 70 RBIs on offense.

His abilities were on full display this spring, and I'm absolutely thrilled that he is being recognized for his outstanding season. More than being able to witness firsthand his athletic prowess, though, I am so grateful I was able to get to know Kade personally over the past two years. He is a young man of exemplary character who daily showcases impeccable leadership qualities, and I cannot wait to see him experience continued success in the future. "
Snell spent one season at Auburn before transferring to Wallace-Dothan to spend his next two years. In his first season with the Governors, Snell hit .396 with 61 hits and 44 RBIs while striking out 46 batters at the mound.

Snell will be continuing his athletic and academic career at the University of Alabama next year.
