Schenectady County finishes off its three-peat
The Royals women lifted the national championship trophy for the third straight year

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – For the third straight season, the NJCAA women’s bowling championship is going home with Schenectady County (N.Y).
- Schenectady County accumulated 12,390 points for first-place, while Suffolk County (N.Y.) finished the tournament with 11,831 pins for second. The top five included Iowa Central with 11,564 pins, Highland (Ill.) with 11,432 and Schoolcraft with 10,768.
- Schenectady County’s Jessica Shufelt (575) and Morgan Ruggeri (573) won the double’s crown finishing with 1,148 points.
- Freshman Lauren Piotrowski garnered the singles championship finishing with 630 pins. In her final game, Piotrowski tallied 258 pins – an NJCAA championship record for a single game.
- Morgan Ruggeri finished of the sweep of tournament accolades for Schenectady by earning the all-events championship with a tournament total of 2,279 pins.
