Lilly Wyche is Named the 2026 NJCAA DII Softball Player of the Year

Charlotte, NC – Monumental results at the hands of one standout freshman. Lilly Wyche of Murray State College has been named the 2026 NJCAA Division II Softball Player of the Year.

Wyche stunned the nation as she dominated in the batter's box all season long. The Freshman DP led the country in many categories, proving herself as a pitcher's worst nightmare. Launching a nation leading 30 home runs this year, Wyche became known as one of the most threatening hitters in the game due to her power and consistency.

Wyche led the nation in runs batted in (105), total bases (222) and slugging percentage, averaging a staggering 1.213. The Stonewall, Okla. native batted .530 this year with an on base percentage of .611. She totaled 96 runs, 97 hits and 9 triples. She was phenomenal on the base paths, stealing 26 bases. In the field, Wyche was perfect, executing all 42 defensive chances without an error.

"Lilly had a phenomenal year at the plate. Her commitment and dedication to the game was admirable to watch every day. Our coaching staff is proud of her as well as her teammates for continuing to push each other in practice. Furthermore, we are excited for what the future holds for her and our team," said Murray State College Head Coach, Aaron Mullens.

Wyche was a leading force that brought the Aggies to much success this season. Murray State finished the year with a 66-3 record (.957), leading the nation in runs (763), hits (762), doubles (172), home runs (167), RBIs (708), extra base hits (369), total bases (1495), batting average (.423), slugging (.831), shutouts (39) and batting average against (.147). They were ranked in the Top 5 of the NJCAA National Rankings all year, earning the No. 2 seed in the National Tournament.

During the National Tournament, Wyche batted .462, launching two home runs, three RBIs, and 6 hits in her 13 at bats. Leading the Aggies to a third place finish, Wyche earned a spot on the 2026 DII Softball World Series All-Tournament Team.

Wyche's stellar year gained recognition across the country. She was named the 2026 NFCA DII Player of the Year, as well as NFCA First Team All-American. She also earned 2026 NJCAA DII Softball First Team All-America honors. As Wyche returns to the Aggies in 2027, she will continue to dominate and leave her mark on the program.

TISHOMINGO — Murray State College softball standout Lilly Wyche has been named the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NJCAA Division II Player of the Year, recognizing one of the most dominant offensive seasons in junior college softball history.

A freshman designated player for the Lady Aggies, Wyche led the nation in four major offensive categories, including home runs (30), RBI (105), total bases (222) and slugging percentage (1.213).

Wyche is a former All-State player from Stonewall High School.

Stonewall softball coach Brian Davis said she was one of the best players he has had the opportunity to mentor during his decades-long coaching career.

"As proud as I am of Lilly and as deserving as she is of this accomplishment, I'd be lying if I said I was surprised," Davis told The Ada News. "Her work ethic and determination are second to none."

Her remarkable production helped lead Murray State College to a 66-3 overall record and a third-place finish at the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series.

Wyche's impact extended well beyond the national-leading statistics. She ranked fifth nationally in runs scored (96) and hits (97), sixth in on-base percentage (.611), seventh in triples (9) and eighth in batting average (.530).

"Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to coach a few All-Americans and many collegiate players. With that said, Lilly is the best hitter I've ever coached — and that's saying something," Davis said.

Wyche also posted a perfect fielding percentage, converting all 42 defensive chances without committing an error.

Her performance on the national stage further cemented her status as one of the country's elite players. Wyche earned NJCAA Division II World Series All-Tournament Team honors after helping guide the Aggies to one of the most successful seasons in program history.

Davis said the sky is the limit for the former Lady Longhorn.

"She has finally had the opportunity to focus solely on softball, and she has taken her game to another level. The bar was already high, but she somehow raised it even higher," Davis said. "It wouldn't surprise me at all if one day we're watching her play in Oklahoma City."
