Galcatcher and Lewis named DI Co-Players of the Year
Charlotte, NC - Grayson's Amiah Galcatcher and Indian Hills' Destiny Lewis have been named the 2023 NJCAA DI Softball Co-Players of the Year.
Galcatcher helped lead Grayson to a 49-9 season and third place in the 2023 NJCAA DI Softball World Series. This past season with the Vikings, Galcatcher had a .436 batting average with 78 hits, 77 RBI's, 25 homeruns, and 9 doubles.
Head Coach Mike McBrayer on Galcatcher- "To have the season Amiah had is next to impossible. Not only did she get it done in one of the toughest conferences in the nation, she got it done against one of the toughest schedules played by a NJCAA softball team."
Galcatcher was named to the 2023 NJCAA DI Softball World Series All-Tournament team and was placed on the 2023 NJCAA First-Team All-America team. She was also named the NTJCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Year and is a 2023 NFCA First-Team All-American.
Galcatcher tied the single-season program record with her 25 homeruns this season. The sophomore out of Stillwell, OK will be continuing her academic and athletic career at Stephen F. Austin in the fall.

Lewis helped lead Indian Hills to a 47-10 record and a trip to the 2023 NJCAA DI Softball World Series. This past season with the Warriors, Lewis had a .444 batting average with 80 hits, 92 RBI's, 31 homeruns, and 14 doubles.

She has worked extremely hard to become the ball player she is but I'm just as proud of the growth she has had off the field. Lewis was placed on the 2023 NJCAA DI Softball World Series All-Tournament team and is a member of the 2023 NJCAA First-Team All-America team. She was also named the NFCA National Player of the Year, making her the first in program history with that honor.

While her accolades and statistics speak for themselves, her growth as a person here this past academic year is what will continue to lead her to many more successes in her career. We are certainly proud to call Destiny a Warrior alum and look forward to watching her career unfold at the NCAA Division I level next year."
Lewis is closing out her career with the Warriors by setting eight school records - four season and four career. These records include: homeruns (62), runs (177), RBIs (182), and total bases (407). The sophomore out of Indianola, IA will be continuing her academic and athletic career at Southeastern Louisiana University in the fall.
