Luyeisy Marquez-Moreno Named 2025 DI Volleyball Player of the Year
Charlotte, NC – A commanding force offensively and defensively, Luyeisy Marquez-Moreno is a standout on a fantastic Miami Dade College team.
Marquez-Moreno was a driving force that helped the Sharks to their first National Championship Title since 2017. In the national tournament, she registered 58 kills and 68 points with a .411 hitting percent. This performance also earned her the 2025 NJCAA DI Volleyball Most Valuable Player award.
2025 marks the 4th consecutive year that Miami Dade met Florida SouthWestern in the title match of the National Championship. In 2024, Marquez-Moreno's 222 kills and 55 total blocks helped the Sharks reach the final of the national championship but fell just short.
In this year's final match, Luyeisy led the Sharks with 13 kills and swept Florida SouthWestern to earn the 2025 National Title.

Throughout the season, Luyeisy led the team in almost every category both offensively and defensively. Fearsome on the attack, the sophomore registered 384 kills on 955 swings, as well as 54 total blocks.
Marquez-Moreno will continue her impressive athletic and academic career at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
